Ordinary website requests
Loading a page necessarily sends technical information to the serving infrastructure, including an IP address and request details. Hosting systems may keep technical logs for delivery, reliability and security. This notice does not promise that infrastructure logs are absent or anonymous.
The editorial pages do not include advertising trackers, analytics libraries, social embeds or externally hosted fonts. Photographs, styles and scripts are requested from this site rather than third-party image services.
The suggestion composer
The composer processes your entries in browser memory. Its code does not submit them to a server or store them in cookies or localStorage. Reloading or leaving the page may discard the draft, although your browser may independently restore form entries.
Copying places text on your device’s clipboard, subject to your browser permissions. Downloading creates a text file on your device. Your operating system, browser, extensions or clipboard-sync services may handle these items under their own settings. Clear or delete them yourself if needed.
Email correspondence
If you send an email, we receive your address, message and any information you choose to attach. We use correspondence to consider suggestions, investigate corrections, answer questions and protect the site against abuse. Email providers also process messages as part of delivery and storage.
Do not send confidential documents, sensitive personal details or material you are not entitled to share. Sending a suggestion does not mean that your identity or message will be published. Where attribution is appropriate, we can discuss it separately.
Retention and requests
Correspondence may be kept while it remains relevant to an enquiry, correction or legitimate recordkeeping need. No fixed deletion period is promised here. You may ask about, correct or request deletion of information you have supplied; applicable rights and exceptions depend on your jurisdiction. We may need enough information to verify the request without collecting unnecessary additional details.
